Airgas Teamsters On Strike in Hingham

February 10, 2025 Submitted by Sean Martin

Teamsters Local 25 members at Airgas Hingham are on strike after unanimously voting down the company’s insufficient and insulting contract proposal.  The 13 workers went on strike when their contract expired February 1 and will hold the strike line 24/7 until the company provides its workers with the pay and benefits they deserve. The striking Teamsters are getting support from the community and local elected leaders, including State Rep. Joan Meschino, State Senator Patrick O’Connor and State Senator Paul Feeney who all visited the strike line and expressed support for the Local 25 members in their bid for a fair contract.

“The Airgas contract proposal is insulting to our members. These dedicated and skilled Teamsters are fighting for fair wage increases, affordable health insurance, a retirement plan, and acceptable paid time off.  The company’s most recent proposal just moved money from one bucket to another. Their proposals are unacceptable and fall well short of a fair contract,” said Teamsters Local 25 President Thomas G. Mari.

Teamsters Local 25 is the largest Teamsters union in New England with more than 12,500 members in Greater Boston and Southern New England.
