A four-alarm fire broke out at South Shore Sports Complex in Hingham late-Thursday into early Friday morning.  The damage to the complex is substantial which is devastating to the many local programs that call the facility home including Select Soccer and the South Shore Baseball Club.

The alarms went off just after 11 p.m., and flames were shooting from the entire roofline. There were no injuries reported and no injuries to responding firefighters.

Major roof and interior damage can be viewed on the scene this morning.  More details to come on this story.

Thank you to all of our local first-responders.

  1. Strange…considering the building looks to be mostly constructed of concrete and steel. Scary… that for a place that hosts so many sports activities for children, that there doesn’t seems to be a sprinkler system installed ???
