Weir River Farm Needs Your Help: Seeking Volunteers!

May 3, 2023 Submitted by Weir River Farm

There’s an invader at historic Weir River Farm and it’s putting birds, butterflies and endangered native wildflowers at risk! It’s the non-native invasive plant called Garlic Mustard, and the good news is that every plant pulled this spring will prevent up to 3,000 new plants next year. On May 21st at 12:30, local environmental group Wild Cohasset will be leading a group of volunteers on a short hike onto the working farm’s beautiful conservation land.  There, the volunteers will weed flowering garlic mustard plants for approximately an hour before hiking back to the trailhead. No experience is necessary and community service credit is available for teens. For more information and meeting details, please go to www.WildCohasset.org
