The Hingham Unity Council (HUC) invites you to celebrate four years of community connection with us on Thursday, October 5 at the Hingham Community Center, 70 South Street, from 7:30-9:30PM. This event is free and open to all.
The HUC was formed in October 2019 after a group of community members met to discuss ways to ensure that ALL folks who lived, worked, worshiped, or visited Hingham feel welcomed, included, and supported. From that initial gathering, the HUC began its mission of facilitating in-person dialogue about systemic issues that affect human dignity with the goal of fostering a more inclusive community. Over the past four years, the outpouring of support and encouragement from the community has been invaluable to the HUC’s mission and we want to invite friends, neighbors and anyone with a connection to our community to join us for a relaxed, social gathering to keep the conversation going and provide input into future HUC initiatives.
“This is going to be a fun and relaxed evening with a little different format than some of our past events,” said Leslie Wittmann, HUC Board member and chair of the event. There will be no structured small group breakouts or large group conversations. Instead, all “conversation” will take place using markers to write on paper hung on the walls as folks are so inspired during the course of the evening – and there will be a ballot box for those who would rather submit their thoughts more privately.“
So please grab or friend or come on your own to make some new ones – it’s sure to be a fun night! Light bites, soft drinks, and cocktails will be served. All registered guests will be entered into a drawing to win four free classes at Balance Studio in Cohasset. Balance offers yoga, barre and pilates classes.
