The Company Theatre Presents “The Cottage: A Comedy Behind Closed Doors”

September 10, 2205 by The Company Theatre

The Company Theatre is delighted to announce its upcoming production of The Cottage – A Comedy Behind Closed Doors, running October 10–26 at The Company Theatre in Norwell.

Set in the beautiful English countryside in 1923, this side-splitting romp is an outrageous tale of sex, betrayal, and love. When Sylvia boldly decides to reveal her affair to both her husband and her lover’s wife, chaos ensues. What follows is a surprising and hilarious web of secrets, where the true meaning of fate, identity, and marriage are called into play. With its quick wit, The Cottage is a potentially murderous romantic comedy in the classic Downton Abbey style that audiences have come to love.

“We are excited to present a non-stop chaotic comedy; it’s just what people need right now,” said Zoe Bradford, award-winning playwright and co-founder of the Company Theatre. “ With its unpredictable turn of events and quirky characters, it’s exactly the kind of sophisticated humor that reminds us how much fun live theatre can be.”

The production is directed by Michael Hammond, who brings a sharp eye for comedy and character to this witty, fast-paced play.

“The Cottage opens Friday, October 10, and runs through Sunday, October 26. There are evening and matinée performances available. Standard admission tickets are $38. Premium seating is available for $44. For a complete list of showtimes, to purchase tickets, or for more information, visit www.companytheatre.com or call the box office at 781-871-2787.
