South Shore Conservatory (SSC) launches spring music and dance offerings with a robust menu of arts offerings for all ages and abilities, including Creative Arts Therapies (CAT) programs, at their campuses in Hingham and Duxbury.
SSC’s private lesson program connects students one-on-one with professional teaching artists, meeting students where they are musically on a full range of instruments including piano, voice, guitar, strings, percussion, woodwinds, and brass. Students may explore a variety of genres and styles, from classical and Celtic, to jazz, rock and pop. A new student’s first lesson on any instrument is always free.
For children six and under, SSC offers enrichment programs such as Music Together®, Music Sprouts, Creative Movement, Primary Ballet, Hip Hop, and introductory FUNdamentals classes in piano, guitar, ukulele, and voice.

For students seven and over, SSC offers group classes and ensembles such as Rock Band, SSC Youth Orchestra, Ballet, Songwriting Workshop, Pure Harmony, and Chamber Music. In addition, on Friday, January 26, 7 pm at its Hingham campus, SSC hosts Monster Jam, where students in grades six to eight can rock out on any instrument with their friends.
Adult students may find inspiration with Adult Rock Band, Adult Intro to Piano, Adult Ballet, Let’s Dance, Chamber Music, 100 Songs Every Jazz Musician Should Know, and SSC Community Voices.
SSC’s Creative Arts Therapies (CAT) Department offers individualized music and dance therapy sessions, plus programs to maximize independence and wellness. CAT programs offered this spring include SSC Community Voices, Singing with Parkinson’s, SSC Memory Café, and Percussion Commotion.

South Shore Conservatory offers programs for all to enjoy, regardless of age, ability, geography, and financial means. Spring 2024 lessons and classes begin January 9, but students may enroll at any time.
