Sign up for the Thanksgiving Day Hingham Turkey Trot 5K!

Turkey Trot 2023

October 15, 2025 By Carol Britton Meyer

Runners from Hingham and other communities are invited to join the annual Hingham Turkey Trot 5K — dedicated to providing “a fast, fun, and fulfilling” Thanksgiving Day road race – on Nov. 27. Walkers are also welcome!

The event begins at 7:30 a.m. from Hingham High School, following a path along Union Street. Those with running strollers are asked to start at the back. A large turnout is expected as always, which adds to the fun.

The event benefits the HHS boys and girls cross-country and track and field program, with race proceeds going to the HHS XC/Track Boosters to provide assistance with expenses that include coaches salaries, track meet timing, additional equipment, and more.

For many, participating in this popular race has become a tradition and a great way to work up an appetite for turkey and all the fixings later in the day.

Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers overall as well as to the top three male and female finishers in each age group.

Volunteers are welcome — to help out before, during, or after the race or by contributing sustenance for the runners.

No dogs are allowed on the race course, with the exception of trained service animals. (Reach out to hhsruns@gmail.com for more information.)

To view the course map and parking information or to volunteer, make a donation, or to register for the race, go to www.hinghamturkeytrot.com.

An additional $5 will be charged for all registrants who enter on or after Nov. 20.
