The idea is this: Get as many Hingham High alumni musicians playing rock and roll on one stage so we can draw more people from Hingham together…..Because it’s FUN!!!
The Harbormen Rock and Roll Consortium (HRRC) is pleased to announce that tickets are available for a special New Years Eve Show at The C Note in Hull on Saturday December 31st from 7:30PM – 2:00AM. Advance Tickets can be purchased online here for $25.
HRRC is a band composed mostly of Hingham High School alumni musicians (and friends). The band poster is an ever growing/changing collage of 1980s and 1990s musicians that came together in honor of one man, Hingham native Thompson Craft Holliday, AKA Woody, who passed away in December of 2021.
Hingham High School classmates Chris Pimentel (HHS class of 1986) and Peggy (Warner) Magner (HHS Class of 1985) came together, along with his family to organize “Woodapalooza,” which was held April of 2022 as a tribute to Woody to reconnect with their large and talented group of Hingham friends and families.
“The celebration of life was a magical day, filled with love, laughter, memories, a few tears & awesome all-day music,“ said Peggy Magner., “Many months were spent jamming, all involved, worked so hard to give Tommy the day he would have wanted & deserved.”

The original list of musicians coming together included Bow Thayer (HHS class of 1985), who wrote the song “500lb Canary,” which was a compilation of Woody’s jokes, along with a painting and video; Lisa Pimentel (HHS Class of 1984) currently of the Drama Dolls & No Small Children; John Manley, Paul Rogalski and Mike Press (HHS class of 1985 and past members of the iconic Hingham band “Metamorphosis”); Chris Pimentel, Rob Zaccardi and Timmy Mullane (HHS class of 1986); Jim McGathy (HHS Class of 1987 and drummer for the iconic Hingham band “Moot Point”); Kevin Condon (HHS Class of 1985); Shawn Staples (HHS Class of 1987); along with Peggy’s husband Bob Magner, with whom Woody was very close.
Joanie Pimentel (HHS class of 1990) of SuperHoney and No Small Children composed a heartfelt song for Woody, from her home in CA, that brought many to tears that day. Joanie will be traveling back to Hingham to join the HRRC for a future C Note show on August 18th, 2023.
Chris Pimentel spoke about why forming the HRRC was so important, “After we lost him, the goal for me was always to do what Woody would have wanted me to do. That meant nothing more than giving his mom & family something special. By bringing us together to play, with all the other people that came to his celebration, we started something we just didn’t want to end, and something Woody would absolutely love.”
Since Woodapalooza the HRRC has continued to grow with the addition of more talented Hingham High School alumni musicians with one goal – “Bring more of us together, have fun, feel alive and keep our promise to Woody to keep the music going for him” states Chris Pimentel.
The HRRC performed two sold out performances at the C Note in Hull, one on July 16, 2022 and another on September 30, 2022, and now includes additional Hingham High School graduates Patty Gilbert McDonald (HHS class of 1991); Karl Berggren (HHS class of 1987); John Metters (HHS Class of 1987 also of “Moot Point” fame); Desmond Charles Weathersby (HHS Class of 1984); and extended family and friends – Nicole Zaccardi, Ohan Heghinian, Andrew Bostrom, and Bob Paluccio.

Hingham childhood memories and friendships are at the heart of the HRRC. “It has been amazing singing with this group as I have so many memories of all of these talented HHS musicians playing at St. Paul’s School Dances, Hingham High School talent shows and the Annual HIngham Battle of the Bands in the 1980s” states Patty Gilbert McDonald.
The longstanding Hingham friendship between John Manley and Peggy Magner is the core of the band’s continued success, “Since first meeting Peggy at East Elementary School in 1977-78, I can attest that she, and now Bob, are some of the most dedicated and loyal people you could ever meet, who are willing to do whatever they can to contribute to a cause that benefits their friends.” States John Manley, “Peggy and Bob Magner continued to graciously open up their home to use as a rehearsal space for the HRRC.”
The HRRC also shares many family connections growing up in Hingham said Patty Gilbert McDonald, “My 5 older brothers and sisters all went to HHS with many of the band members so it’s been fun also hearing stories about my dad Dr. Gilbert coaching them all in baseball, basketball and softball.”
Nicole Zacardi, daughter of bass player Rob Zaccardi, represents the next generation of the HRRC. “It’s been very special to share the stage with my daughter and hear her sing all the songs I loved playing in the 1980s” states Rob. “She crushes them too!”
