Playoff Brackets Set for Winter Tournaments

Senior captain CC Flynn (19) looks to get back to the title game again this year with the Hingham Harborwomen

Three Hingham teams qualified for their respective post season tournaments – girls basketball, girls hockey, and boys hockey.

Girls hockey, who are defending MIAA Division I champions, will enter the tournament as the 7th seed and will face 26th seeded Waltham on Thursday, February 26th at 5:00 pm at Pilgrim Arena.  The Harborwomen finished the season with a 15-5-1 record.  There’s lots of playoff experience on this team and are expected to make another deep run into March.

Boys hockey will be the 6th seed in Division 1.  They will face 27th seeded Shrewsbury on Wednesday, February 25th at 6:00 pm at Pilgrim Arena.  The Harbormen finished with a 14-6-2 record.  Coach Messina will have his boys ready to play in arguably one of the most talented and deep playoff fields in all of MIAA sports.

Girls basketball finished as the  16th seed in Division II.  They will host 17th seeded Arlington Catholic Friday at 6:30 pm.  The Harborwomen ended the season on a high note with an upset home win over North Quincy on Wednesday.  The girls head into the tournament with some momentum and looking to have a few upsets of their own.

Good luck to all the players and coaches!
