Kids in Hingham’s Liberty Pole neighborhood gathered on Patriots Way today to cheer on the Patriots as they head to the Superbowl, and carry on their special tradition of a photo in front of the legendary street sign. Chants of “Warriors”, “I love Drake Maye”, and “Go Patriots!” echoed through the neighborhood as the kids braved the cold to show support for their favorite team.

“We took this photo during Super Bowl week in 2017 and again in 2019, and both times the Patriots won,” explains Patriots Way resident Sarah Joseph. “It’s a special neighborhood, and traditions like this are what keep us connected.”

In 2019, the Patriots tweeted a photo of the kids on their official Twitter account, and Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman even “liked” the photo, causing a flurry of excitement amidst the kids of Liberty Pole.

The photo didn’t keep come together in 2018, and when the Patriots lost that year, the neighborhood knew it couldn’t be missed again.
Kids and parents alike will be gathered to cheer on their team Sunday as the Patriots face the Seattle Seahawks in the Superbowl. Let’s hope the tradition of a win following the photo will continue this year!
