Linda Hastings Hall Carpenter, a long-time resident of Hingham passed away on July 19th, 2025. She is predeceased by her sister Elizabeth H. Williams of Annapolis, MD, and her loving Husband of 68 years A. Alden Carpenter, MD.
She was born into a Navy family in 1929 in San Diego, CA, and always spoke happily of her Navy upbringing.
Linda graduated from the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing with a RN degree combined with a BS degree from Columbia University.

Linda and Al raised their family as enthusiastic hikers (spending overnights in all the New Hampshire AMC huts), skiers, and sailors. And, after Al retired, he and Linda hiked in Europe, enjoyed foreign travels by small river boats and had a life full of cultural surprises.
Linda’s love of “shelling” included collections from not only Cape Cod and Florida but as far as the beaches of Normandy and the sea of Finland. She was a cat lover, a knitter, and especially enjoyed her circle of tennis friends.
Linda was a proud volunteer at the Guild Consignment Center at the Hingham Congregational Church for many years.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday October 25th, 2025, at 10:30am at the Hingham Congregational Church 366 Main St Hingham MA 02043. Burial will be private.
