“Lib”
Age 95 passed away peacefully on Saturday July 5, 2025. A longtime resident of Hingham, Lib was born and raised in Winchester, MA. She graduated from Wheaton College in Norton, MA. While teaching elementary school in Newton, MA, she met her husband of 70 years, Robert W. Blucke. Lib is survived by her husband Bob, her children Susan Blucke of Hopkinton, NH, Lynn Monaco of Cohasset, MA and Janet Mueller and her husband Ken of Siesta Key, FL. Lib is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and was predeceased by her daughter Cynthia Blucke and her brother, Richard Fenno.
During her life, Lib was very active politically, academically, socially and athletically. While raising her four daughters, Lib was a member of the original committee to bring the METCO program to Wellesley, MA where she was also a member of The League of Woman Voters. Lib was a member of the staff of US Congressman Gerry Studds, and later in life, was president of The Wheaton College Alumni Association and subsequently became a Trustee of the College. Lib was also involved locally as a member of the Hingham Personnel and Advisory Boards. Lib loved sports and was an avid fan of all Boston teams and was an active member of the Old Colony and Hingham Tennis Clubs and the Cohasset Golf Club.
Funeral services will be private.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
