South Shore resident Maya Walsmith, age 17, is thrilled to release her debut EP titled “Waiting Patiently” on September 13, 2025. Maya is a singer/songwriter, and this project includes seven original songs with Maya on vocals, piano and guitar. The EP was produced, mixed and mastered by Janos (The Arcitype) at The Bridge Sound and Stage Recording Studio in Cambridge, MA.
Fans of Lana Del Rey and Lizzy McAlpine will enjoy this EP release. Maya’s music has been described as expressive indie pop rock, leaning into ballads and soulful lyrics.
The “Waiting Patiently” EP includes the title track along with already-released singles “Wash Up Again” and “Silver Light,” which has over 25,000 streams on Spotify. “Less to You” will be released on August 20th, and other titles on this EP include “Seeing Clearly,” “Polishing the Rust,” and “Everything Changes.”

Maya is a high school senior at Milton Academy. She sings and plays piano and guitar at open mics around the South Shore, at senior homes, and at various community events.
