The 14th Annual Knock Out Cancer basketball competitions at the South Shore Sports Center in early April raised $20,000 to help fight cancer as a continuing way to honor the memory of former Hingham resident Janice Mannion.

“The total raised since the event’s inception is $235,000, most of which benefits The Jimmy Fund,” Mannion’s husband, John, told the Hingham Anchor.

KOC, which was inspired by Mannion as she battled cancer, supports cancer care and research through the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund and attracts more than 100 participants and many spectators, who all enjoy the event.

Even though KOC has already occurred, there’s still time to donate to this worthy cause, through May 8. For details go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/knock-out-cancer-2023-tickets-547715310237https://www.eventbrite.com/e/knock-out-cancer-2023-tickets-547715310237
