Interfaith Service of Thanksgiving and Healing to Be Held in Hingham

November 20, 2025 by Hilary Jenison

Next Wednesday evening, November 26 at 7:00 pm, the Hingham and Hull Religious Leaders Association will gather the community for its annual Interfaith Service of Thanksgiving and Healing. The tradition, now approaching its centennial, has long served as a moment for residents to come together, reflect, and share in a spirit of gratitude.

This year, the service will be hosted at Congregation Sha’aray Shalom. Although the event has historically taken place at the Old Ship Church, members of the association chose after last year’s service to begin rotating the location among Hingham’s faith communities. This change reflects a renewed commitment to honoring the diverse religious institutions that make up the town’s spiritual landscape. Congregation Sha’aray Shalom has expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to welcome guests this year.

A reception will follow the service, offering attendees a chance to connect with neighbors and clergy in a warm and welcoming setting.

In the spirit of giving, cash donations collected that evening will support the Diane Edson Fund at the Wellspring Multiservice Center. Guests are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit both the Hingham and Hull Food Pantries. These contributions help ensure that local families receive support during the holiday season and throughout the year.

The community is invited to attend, share in the interfaith experience, and help strengthen the bonds that have shaped this long standing tradition.
