The Hingham Rotary Club presented the Hingham 4th of July Parade Committee with a record high check of nearly $10,000 from the sales of this year’s Parade Button. Dewitt DeLawter (r), who is a member of both the Rotary Club and the Parade Committee, presented the check to Parade Committee Chairman Jim Murphy (l) at their recent Kickoff Meeting for the 2024 4th of July Parade. The Parade Button was designed by Will Donovan from PRS for this year’s theme “Together for the 4th“ and was available at approximately two dozen local businesses from April into July and at the parade. Members of the Hull Rotary Club assisted selling buttons along the parade route on the 4th of July.

The Town of Hingham does not pay for the parade! This year’s funds were generated by Parade Button sales, corporate and private sponsorships and donations, and the 50 Flags Campaign. The average cost for the Parade Committee to present the parade is now $55,000. The Committee accepts donations throughout the year via the Hingham Town Clerk’s office or online at Hingham-ma.gov.

The Parade Committee would like to thank our sponsors and everyone who participated in this year’s parade, making it a safe and fun experience for all!
