Hingham Historical Society to host “The Second Boston Tea Party: Art Show & Coffee Bar

March 4, 2024 By The Hingham Historical Society

On March 7, 1774, Patriots held a Second Boston Tea Party when they threw tea leftover from the December 1773 event into Boston Harbor. The boycott of tea throughout 1774 resulted in America developing as a coffee-loving country. The Hingham Historical Society will commemorate these Tea Party events with a community submitted art show and local coffee bar on Saturday, March 23rd from 1- 4pm at the Hingham Heritage Museum, 34 Main Street, in downtown Hingham. The event is free and open to the public.

The Historical Society encourages artists of all ages to submit art for display at the community art show that reflects a creative interpretation of the events of the Boston Tea Party. All related visual art – including collage, photography, drawing, painting, etchings, ceramics, etc is welcome. Please send a jpeg or PDF image of your art submission to engagement@hinghamhistorical.org, or drop off your submission to The Hingham Heritage Museum by Friday, March 15th.
