Hingham Center For Active Living Offering Programs For Spring

The Discovery Committee at the Hingham Center for Active Living is sponsoring the following in-person programs this spring:

  • Admire the work of one of America’s most prominent artists through “Edward Hopper’s New England.” This program will focus on his images of New England’s coastal regions and will help participants understand the way Hopper’s unique, solemn style continues to captivate and intrigue viewers today. Art historian Jill Sanford will present an engaging and educational experience designed to broaden the minds of those participating in the presentation. This program is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, at 1:30 p.m.
  • From work hats to military caps and ball caps to bonnets, presenter Lori Pires will take participants on an entertaining and informative journey through history, culture, and fashion. She has been covering the world of headwear for over 12 years and with a collection of over 500 hats, she has a story to share with us all. Join us for a spring adventure Wednesday, May 13, at 2 p.m.
  • What can the history of midterm elections tell us about this year’s midterm elections? Coming up in June, Jason Roberts, professor of history at Quincy College will discuss the history of midterm elections and what it portends for this year’s.

All programs are offered at HCAL, 224 Central Street, Hingham, and have limited seating. Registration is required by calling 781-741-1458.
