Best friends since they were 18 months old, Emily Malone of Hingham Middle School and Grace Mathien of Derby Academy, both Hingham residents, will share the role of Clara in Project31 Dance Studio’s inaugural production of The Nutcracker on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at Maria Chapman Middle School in Weymouth.
Malone and Mathien have trained together at Project31 for the past six years as members of the studio’s elite competition team. Their lifelong friendship adds a special spark to the holiday classic.
The performance will feature more than 120 dancers, including 50 from Hingham. Two shows are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets are $30 and available to the public. The family-friendly event promises festive choreography, colorful costumes, and a celebration of community through dance.
