The 20th Annual Hingham Arts Walk – hosted by the Hingham Downtown Association – will feature more than 100 artists and artisans, live music and dance performances, art making, face painting, food trucks, a beer garden, and workshops throughout downtown streets and sidewalks. Mark your calendar for an afternoon of fun on Sunday, Oct. 19, from noon to 4 p.m.
This popular event is sponsored by Linden Ponds and the Hingham Arts Alliance.
“The Hingham Downtown Association is thrilled to be celebrating our 20th year of bringing art and community together in downtown Hingham,” HDA Executive Director Amy Brown told the Hingham Anchor. “We are so grateful to our local artists, businesses, partners, and sponsors who are committed to sharing art and culture throughout Hingham and the South Shore. It’s going to be a special day!”

Artists from across the South Shore will demonstrate and display their talents on the streets and sidewalks and in open studios and historic buildings across downtown Hingham – from fine art painting, illustration, photography, jewelry, and mixed media, a pottery presentation, plein air painting, youth art, pastel, collages, wood, and decorative arts – available for purchase for one’s own personal enjoyment or as gifts as people stroll, browse, and chat while enjoying live music from a local band. There will also be a family art project at The Boston Artistry on Water Street.
The HDA is partnering with Vitamin Sea Brewing to create a beer garden on the patio by Hingham Furniture & Design on the Station Street side – with special thanks to owner Diana Aveni.

The HDA is also partnering with the Hingham Arts Alliance for a performance tent that will feature the Hingham High School band as the opening act; a drum circle with South Shore Conservatory’s Ed Sorrentino; the Center for Active Living’s Grand Ukes; Missy’s Movement dance performance (Melissa Webster); Country Line Dance (Michael Hammond) and Academy of the Company Theatre dance performance; Hingham High School Drama Club; Hingham Civic Music Theatre; and the Spotlight Music and Theater Academy.
South Street from Central to Main will be closed for pedestrian traffic, as will the South Street extension from Main to North Street.
The event is rain or shine. “We’re hoping for great participation and weather,” Brown said.
