Hingham Arts Alliance to Host pARTy for the Arts on March 11

The Hingham Arts Alliance (HAA) is throwing its first annual pARTy for the Arts to raise funds for art-related grants the evening of Saturday, March 11 at the Hingham Community Center. Dedicated to enhancing awareness, advocacy, and support for the arts locally, the nonprofit HAA awards grants to teachers, students, and community members and organizations. All are invited to pARTy for the Arts. Attendees will enjoy appetizers and cocktails while taking in live performances by local artists, including pianist Sarah Troxler with Meryl Summers on bassoon, Woman Song vocal group, Fred Astaire Ballroom dancers, and actors performing a scene from Guys and Dolls.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on more than 50 silent auction and raffle items, including concert, theatre, and sports tickets, paintings and photography, and gift certificates to popular spots around town.

Dozens of local businesses and community members stepped up to donate fun experiences and beautiful artwork to auction off at the event in support of HAA’s grant initiatives, including:

  • Prints by local photographers Sarah Dasco and Brooke Bartletta
  • Artwork from Aisling Gallery and Home in Harmony
  • Paintings by local artists Robin Ross, Jaynia Matherwiez, Emma Angel, and Lauri Prins
  • Photo sessions with Josh Ross

  • Duxbury Bay Players
  •  Joan of Arc at The Company Theatre

Hingham Arts Alliance offers grants to fund materials and programs that enhance visual and performing arts opportunities. HAA has also hosted and supported a series of events in the community, including the Hingham Arts Walk, Arts on the Green at Derby Shops, and an event to introduce the new HPS fine arts director.
