On Saturday morning, June 10, you will once again be able to find plants in abundance at the Garden Club of Hingham’s popular annual Plant Sale, taking place from 9:00AM to 12:00PM on the Hingham Common.
With hundreds of perennials from Hingham gardens, the plant sale has always attracted a line of eager gardeners awaiting the opening moment. As always, the Garden Club will be offering perennials which thrive on the South Shore such as salvia, astilbe, heuchera, yarrow, columbine, and peonies, and anticipates including drought-resistant plants, as well as some unusual shade plants.
Proceeds from the Plant Sale help to underwrite the Club’s civic contributions. Many beautiful Hingham gardens are the responsibility of The Garden Club of Hingham.
Our Plant A Row program encourages club members and members of the community to grow and share their garden produce, herbs and flowers with the Hingham Food Pantry. For 61 years we have donated a tree to the town on Arbor Day and we also offer a Junior Gardner program to educate and encourage 8 to 18 years olds to join in the fun of floral arranging, gardening practices, and making holiday crafts using natural plant materials.
Garden Club members will be in attendance at the plant sale to help with the selection of recommended plants, as well as with information about becoming a member of the Garden Club.
