Come Celebrate Ergathon with Hingham High Crew!

February 24, 2026 by JP Powers

On Saturday, February 28, Mass MVMNT (211 Lincoln St, Hingham) will once again host Hingham High Crew’s annual Ergathon as the three-time defending state champions close out their winter training season in style. This high-energy event is the team’s largest fundraiser of the year and a favorite tradition for athletes and supporters alike.

Competing in teams of up to four rowers, Hingham’s boys and girls will battle the clock to see who can row the most meters in one hour. Expect plenty of speed and plenty of spirit as teams race under creative themes like 80s, Gru’s Crew, The Beatles, and Bikini Bottom. The competition is fierce, the music is loud, and every meter counts.

All funds raised directly support the program, including equipment purchases, coaching launches, maintenance and repairs for shells and oars, regatta entry fees, and the many costs associated with running Hingham High School’s second-largest varsity sport. The generosity of our community plays a critical role in keeping the program strong and competitive.

Racing begins at 9:00 a.m., and spectators are encouraged to stop by and cheer on the athletes as they trade leads and push through the final strokes in pursuit of winter bragging rights. The morning wraps up around 11:15 a.m., followed by a crowd-favorite event: the 1,000-meter Parent Erg, where one parent will earn the title of Fastest Parent on the Team.

With a high-energy playlist and an electric atmosphere, Ergathon is more than just a workout. It is a celebration of teamwork, grit, and the dedication that fuels Hingham Crew’s continued success.

Join us as we mark the end of a long winter of training and gear up to defend our state title this spring.
