The South Shore is digging out from its biggest snowstorm in about 4 years.
From Sunday through midday Monday, Hingham picked up 14″ of snow.
Nearby Weymouth measured 15″, and Boston measured nearly 19″ of new snow.
The extremely light, fluffy snow easily blew into drifts measuring 2 feet or higher, however.
Light snow showers will continue through Monday afternoon, but additional accumulations will be minimal relative to what’s already fallen.
While sunshine will return this week, behind the storm, temperatures will remain far below average.
High temperatures will only reach the 20s, with morning temperatures in the single digits.
Another storm will approach next weekend, but it’s too early to know if the storm brings additional snow, or passes just offshore.
