Hingham resident Jack Giorgio was recognized as a “Hero Among Us” by the Boston Celtics during their home game against the Orlando Magic on Sunday, November 23, 2025. The honor, presented in conjunction with Move4Heather Night, celebrates Jack’s extraordinary impact on the fight against pediatric brain cancer.

Jack’s journey began in 2019 when, at just 11 years old, he was diagnosed with a brainstem glioma. After years of treatments and uncertainty, Jack, now 18, chose to transform his experience into action. He founded Jack’s Drive 55, a charitable initiative dedicated to supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Through community support and nationwide outreach, Jack has raised more than $1 million to advance research, improve treatment options, and offer hope to families facing similar challenges.

Since 1997, the Boston Celtics’ Heroes Among Us program has honored individuals who make exceptional, lasting contributions to their communities. Jack’s commitment to advocacy and his unwavering determination to help others embody the true spirit of this award.
