Harbormen closed out a great year with a fifth-place finish at the Division 1 state championship.

It’s been three years since the Hingham High golf team has advanced all the way to the Division 1 state championship. Chances are their next appearance will take nowhere near as long.

The Harbormen super six earned a fifth-place finish Monday in the season-ending championship final, shooting a team score of 318 (+34 over par).

Senior captain Liam Jordan wrapped up his high school career with a round in the State Championships.

This has been a season where youngsters have led the charge for Hingham. Things were no different on a beautiful day for golf at the Wellesley Country Club. The top four finishers were all underclassmen, showing that this season’s success could lead to something even bigger from Hingham in the next few years.

Freshman Mike Rogers was medalist for HHS, shooting a +2 73 for fifth place overall. Birdies on the 16th and 17th holes helped Rogers finish his debut season on a strong note.

Sophomore Emery Olin finished his round with a +8 79 for 21st place overall. Freshman Andrew Davidson was a shot behind his teammate with a +9 80. Sophomore Conor Elio shot a +15 86.

Senior captains Sebby Arata and Liam Jordan wrapped up four great years with the Harbormen golf program with matching scores of 87 for a +16.

And so ends an amazing season for the Hingham High golf program under the direction of head coach Eric Gill. A nearly perfect regular season record of 16-1 gave them the Patriot League Keenan Division championship. They kept momentum rolling with a third-place team finish at the Division 2 finals.

Hingham rolled to the league title in a consistently impressive fashion. Their average winning margin was 19.6 strokes. B.C. High was the only team to beat Hingham in a one-on-one match this season. Plymouth South and Whitman-Hanson were the only teams to finish within 10 strokes of Hingham.

The Division 1 team and individual state champions were both repeat performances from 2025.

Xaverian (298) retained the team title, winning by 11 strokes over St. John’s Prep. St John’s High School was third, Wellesley was fourth, and Hingham finished fifth.

Xaverian teammates Chris Morrow and Michael McCormack, along with St. John Prep’s AJ Bodnar, all finished regulation tied with an even par 71. Morrow clinched the title for the second year with a birdie on the second playoff hole.
