$20 Ticket Enters Chance to Win Up to $10,000
Watching a helicopter hover just 100 feet over Hatherly Country Club and release hundreds of golf balls at noon on Monday, September 28 is bound to be exciting. Everyone can be part of that excitement by purchasing $20 tickets to the Scituate Animal Shelter’s 50/50 helicopter ball drop and kickoff to the 2027 Putt for Pets golf tournament.
For each $20 ticket purchased, supporters receive a numbered ticket corresponding to a specific ball. The balls will be released over a designated hole and one lucky entrant of the ball landing in or closest to that hole will win half of the ticket proceeds, which could be up to $10,000. The other half of the proceeds will go to help hundreds of animals that SAS cares for every year. Ball drop tickets may be purchased online at https://scituateanimalshelter.org. Entrants need not play golf or be present to win.
“It’s quite a sight to see that helicopter hover over the course and release hundreds of balls at one time,” says Ross Brightman, event co-chairperson. “But the best thing about this entire event is the community support for the shelter. Whether supporters buy one, two, or 20, every $20 ticket directly supports the shelter’s ability to help animals in need throughout the south shore. It takes all of us to care, and if everyone contributes a little we all win big.”
Serving the entire south shore area for more than 30 years, SAS is a donor funded nonprofit organization whose mission is to help homeless animals in need and the people who love them. SAS addresses the root cause of pet homelessness with its spay/neuter program for dogs and cats, its veterinary assistance, and food pantry program. Funds raised through Putt for Pets golf ball drop provides critical funding to support these programs and animals in SAS care.
