The Hingham Center for Active Living Discovery Committee is sponsoring the following programs this fall:
Coming Thursday, September 17, 1 p.m. — “A Hingham Historical Society Tour” will include a tour of the various exhibitions including the new “Witness: Hingham in the Age of Revolution” and Hingham’s role in America’s fight for independence. Bus service leaving from the HCAL at 12:30 p.m. to HHS will be available.
One week later, Tuesday, September 22, at 2 p.m. “The Revolution on Cape Cod and the Islands” will be presented by author David Martin — revealing untold stories of the Revolution on Cape Cod and the Islands. David’s book honors the service of African and Native American soldiers and profiles those who helped define this period of time.
The committee has arranged for Jill Stanford (“Art of the Mind”) to present her lecture “Impressionism” — scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, at 1:30 p.m. Jill has a lighthearted approach to art history and art appreciation that encourages a very comfortable level of learning and understanding.
Do you remember the “Hingham Journal”? We have the former editor coming to discuss her second book. On Wednesday, November 4, at 1:30 p.m. author Mary Ford will discuss “Rebecca Road” (the ship that ran aground during a nor’easter at Scituate Light on Cedar Point).
