This is the clubhouse of the Crow Point Golf Club which was a nine-hole course on the northeast bluff of Paige Hill behind Howe Street in Crow Point. Melville Garden, the amusement park that took up most of Crow Point, had shut down in 1896. After that the trustees for the estate had roads constructed and sold off house lots. By the mid-1940s the golf course section was turned into house lots along Bel Air Road, Ocean View Drive and Shute Avenue.
This image is from a postcard published by Joseph Breen of Hingham and mailed July 5, 1917, to Westfield Mass stating that the there was “good weather every day with rain every evening.”
