Slow Coffee opening soon in downtown Hingham – ‘This is a new adventure for us’

Slow Coffee – featuring a cozy, welcoming vibe — will open soon in downtown Hingham, offering high-quality, specialty coffee and lattes, espresso, light breakfast items, and much more – served by friendly staff.

“We’re hoping to open by the end of August or the beginning of September,” Anson Gao told the Hingham Anchor. Gao owns the shop with his wife, Bo Wang.

The “slow coffee” culture encourages mindful sipping, meaning, “slow down and enjoy it!” and an easier, no-rush lifestyle.

The boutique coffee shop is located at 106 North St. “We’re looking forward to “being part of the neighborhood. This will be a relaxing, comfortable space for people to gather,” Wang said.

This is the second Slow Coffee on the South Shore, building on the success of the highly-rated and much-enjoyed “grab and go” shop of the same name in Columbian Square, South Weymouth.

“This is a new adventure for us in Hingham, and we’re excited about it,” Gao said. “It’s more than a takeout place so we can offer more options, including a broader selection of specialty coffee.”

Takeout and dine-in options will also include breakfast sandwiches and a small selection of pastries, served in the newly-renovated, space, which has 20 seats.

The Hingham location will offer something new and different, with more room and a vibrancy reflecting the surrounding area. “This is such a nice town, and when we heard that this space was available, we thought it was the perfect place to open another shop,” Wang said.

The diverse menu offerings will also include sparkling espresso; cold brew, iced, and hot drip coffee; iced tiramisu, black sesame, and strawberry matcha lattes; berry soda; and non-coffee menu items such as hot chocolate, loose leaf tea, and hand shake iced tea – among many others for customers to enjoy.
