May 22, 2026 Submitted By The Town of Hingham Department of Veterans’ Services and the Hingham Veterans’ Council

The Town of Hingham Department of Veterans’ Services and the Hingham Veterans’ Council are proud to announce that the Annual Memorial Day Observance will be held Monday, May 25, 2026. The Hingham Town Moderator, Michael Puzo, will begin the ceremony promptly at 11:00am at Hingham Town Hall.

All Veterans [and their families], the Hingham High School Band, Chorale Singers, and all senior citizens will be provided priority seating in Sandborn Auditorium, located on the 2nd floor of Town Hall.

Our principal speaker for this year’s observance is Colonel Phil Anderson, a United States Marine Corps veteran, and Deacon at the Hingham Catholic Collaborative. After the official remarks, our Town Clerk, Carol Falvey will read the names of those Hingham Veterans who have passed since Memorial Day last year.

Following the main portion of the ceremony, we will parade the colors to the Veteran’s Memorial, located outside of Town Hall main entrance, placing a wreath in honor of all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, as the Rifle Squad Fires-the-Volley, and the Bugler sounds TAPS.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, ALL Veterans and their families are invited for a buffet-style luncheon at the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall (#358 Main Street), served by Hart Brothers Catering of Rockland, MA.
