A genre-blending program of contemporary and traditional repertoire

South Shore Conservatory’s Premier Concerts Series presents Rasa String Quartet’s Counterpoint in Bloom,  on Saturday, May 16, 3 pm at One Conservatory Drive in Hingham.

Rasa String Quartet is a contemporary award-winning ensemble known for its dynamic performances and genre-crossing versatility. In Counterpoint in Bloom, the Boston-based Rasa ensemble explores how that nascent seed can flourish into a boundless ecosystem. Their program features Bach and Beethoven alongside Guns N’ Roses, Prince, and foot-stomping folk traditions from around the globe, this genre-blending program takes audiences on a journey from humble riff to full-throttle banger!

This is not the first time Rasa String Quartet has performed at South Shore Conservatory (SSC).  In 2024 they wowed SSC audiences with Classic Rock on Strings which featured favorites from Led Zeppelin, Kansas, and the Rolling Stones.
