Hello Hingham! This is your favorite Hingham Little League catcher, Ollie Earley. Last year I started to collect baseball equipment to share with kids coming up in the ranks behind us, and it was a HUGE success.
I wanted to write a sincere thank you letter to our town, Hingham Little League (especially Coach Harb and Coach DeGrass!), and all my friends and family that contributed. Hingham 14U White, my boys, you got me started last spring and I am so grateful! I personally delivered every single piece of equipment and was able to shake the hands of the coaches and kid recipients, and it really filled up my bucket so much. Everyone was so very appreciative. We made amazing connections with coaches and kids at Dorchester Little League, Weymouth Little League, and Brockton Little League, and as word spread, we had individuals reaching out for gear up until Christmas!

My favorite story from last year was a kid in the city who crushed his season and made it into his Little League championship. He was a lefty and his glove was just way too small. Another mom from his team reached out to us and asked if there is any way we had a used lefty glove and if we could get it to him in 24 hours. Hingham showed up and donated TWO used lefty gloves, and we also purchased a new glove at Dick’s for next season and put together a whole bag of gloves, bats, and batting gloves for him! I wrote him a personal note wishing him good luck. My mom heard back a few days later that they won!
I am finishing up 8th grade at BC High, and our school motto is: Be A Man For Others. I take this very seriously, and my family does as well. I think giving back and helping others is a really important part of life. My mom (Rory Earley) is my example of this for me — that lady is always giving!
So THANK YOU SO MUCH, and please think of me as you clean out last year’s baseball bag! We are open to collecting anything baseball related—bats, balls, helmets, bags, cleats, and baseball pants in sizes from T-ball to high school! Catcher’s gear is rare and something I really love to be able to share! One addition we are making this year is to accept small Amazon or Dick’s gift cards, as sometimes we get a very specific request from a deserving kid and we really want to fulfill it!

If you have donations or want to know anything more about my organization, please feel free to email my business manager (my mom): RWEARLEY@GMAIL.COM. Or if you know my address already, you’re welcome to drop off equipment in the bin in front of my garage anytime! We also have a Facebook page at:
