Virginia Harriett (Bryan) Spannagel, of Hingham, MA, passed away on January 29, 2026, at the age of 81.
Daughter of the late Frederick T. Bryan and Harriet (Mannix) Bryan. Wife of the late Randy C. Spannagel. Loving mother of Carole Whittier and husband Scott of Milford, NH, Michelle Cruckshank of Kingston, MA, Julie Spannagel of Hingham, MA, and the late Wendy Spannagel. Grandmother of Bryan Whittier and wife Rebecca, Sarah Whittier, and Heather Whittier. Sister of Frederick T. Bryan and the late James M. Bryan.
Virginia was born and brought up in the Watertown area. She moved to Hingham in 1968 with her husband Randy and raised their family together.
Virginia was a very devoted member of St Paul’s Parish in Hingham. She was also a former member of Hingham 4th of July Parade committee and Cabaret Group.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday February 11, 2026, from 5-7pm at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel 21 Pond Street Hingham MA 02043. A funeral mass will be held Thursday February 12, 2026, at 10am at Hingham Resurrection Parish 1057 Main Street Hingham MA 02043. Burial will be private.
