Man Charged with Stealing from Elderly Residents Apartment

A 28 year old Marshfield man was arrested Saturday for allegedly entering apartments in a senior living complex, stealing a credit card and using it to make purchases. The man claimed to be a ride share driver to gain vehicle access to the complex. He also wore a junk removal company sweatshirt to appear to be a legitimate worker once inside the building.

On December 7, 2025 a resident of Linden Ponds reported to police he noticed one of his credit cards missing from his wallet and learned it had been fraudulently used numerous times the day before. He had left his apartment unlocked that day. Detectives began following up including obtaining surveillance videos of the man.

Over the next several days, two residents of Linden Ponds reported a man approached them inside the building claiming to be from a junk removal company and asked if they needed any furniture removed. On another occasion a man entered an unlocked apartment while the resident was inside and claimed he was there to remove a bureau. He told the resident he had entered the wrong apartment and left.

On December 13 the man returned to Linden Ponds claiming to be ride share driver. He was driving the same vehicle and wearing the same junk removal sweatshirt. Staff called police and Officers located him inside the residential complex. He was arrested and his car was towed.

Arrested was Kevaughn R. Fagan, age 28, of 11 Castle Green, Apt. 3, Marshfield, MA. He was charged with Larceny Over $250 from Person Over Sixty 2) Breaking and Entering in Daytime for Felony 3) Entering Dwelling for Felony By False Pretenses 4) Entering Dwelling for Felony By False Pretenses 5) Entering Dwelling for Felony By False Pretenses.

He was held on $10,000 cash bail at the Plymouth County House of Correction for arraignment at Hingham District Court on December 15, 2025. Detectives obtained a search warrant for his car and property was found. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
