The Hingham newspaper ran this photo of Charles H. Marble on the occasion of his 90th birthday In July of 1948 and it ran again when he died the following December. Born and raised in Hingham, he graduated from Hingham High in 1875.

Two years later he became a plumber with Rich and Marble and went on to provide indoor plumbing and heating ducts around town. He gave much to Hingham as: assistant postmaster, member of the board of registrars, school board and board of health, firefighter, Bowl and Spoon Club, Thespian Dramatic Club of Hingham, Patriarch in the Hingham Tercentenary Pageant, Wompatuck Club, Hingham Historical Society, Mass. Master Mechanics’ Association, Old Colony Lodge of Hingham, and Knights Templar of Weymouth. He is holding the Boston Post Cane (now in town hall) which is held by the oldest living person in Hingham and a clock (a gift from the Masons).
