Hingham Student Charlie Inglis Wins Prestigious Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship

The Institute for Educational Advancement (IEA), a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting the intellectual and personal growth of gifted learners, has named Charlie Inglis of Hingham, Massachusetts as one of only 26 recipients of the Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship (CDB), Class of 2030.

The Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship is the nation’s only merit-based, need-blind scholarship recognizing exceptional academic achievement in gifted seventh graders. Now in its 24th year, the program awards full high school tuition to an optimally matched school or through a customized education plan, along with ongoing mentorship, counseling, and advocacy.

Charlie, who will enter high school in fall 2026, was selected after an extensive application process requiring essays, middle school transcripts, standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, and a work sample. This year’s awardees represent the country’s brightest young minds—talented musicians, researchers, writers, athletes, and leaders who are already making an impact in their schools and communities.

Bradley Scholar was chosen because of their extraordinary intellectual curiosity, leadership, and dedication to making a difference,” said Deborah Monroe, IEA President. “From excelling academically to pursuing their passions, they embody the qualities of a Scholar—bright, driven, and deeply committed to using their talents to impact the world.”

Charlie joins a distinguished national cohort of Scholars who receive not only financial support but also lifelong membership in a network of peers and mentors who share a passion for learning and leadership.

Since its founding in 2002, the Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship has supported more than 425 students nationwide. The award is generously funded by the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation.
