Hingham Farmers Market 2023– Opening Day Saturday May 6

May 4, 2023 By Mark Cullings, President of Hingham Farmers Market

The Hingham Farmers Market (HFM) is back in business starting this Saturday May 6. The HFM is at the Station Street parking lot from 9am-1pm. The lot, at the intersection of Station Street and Water Street, uses 95 Station St., Hingham as a GPS locator.

“It’s May! Time to get rolling,” said Mark Cullings, president of the market.

Gretchen Roth, HFM’s market manager, has been busy taking applications and filling the season’s calendar all the way until Thanksgiving. Old friends like Freitas, Aeonian, Bukujian, Teal and Stargazer Hollow Farms for produce; Copicut and River Rock Farms for poultry, beef, lamb and pork, and Jordan Brothers Seafood will be back. Hingham’s own McGuire’s Mushrooms will be there along with Pain D’Avignon and Steel & Rye and their artisanal breads and baked goods. To Dine For, Lara’s Cuisine, The Hale, Sweet Spirit, Spoon and many others round out the market’s rich array of prepared foods. Named its Readers’ Choice best farmers market by the Patriot Ledger, the HFM has been serving Hingham and its neighboring communities for over fifty years.

The HFM offers the popular USDA SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) program, and one farm, Aeonian, also offers the Massachusetts HIP (Healthy Incentives Program) benefits. SNAP benefits are generously supplemented by a grant from The Fruit Center Marketplace. Eligible customers may receive up to $20 per weekly SNAP transaction for use at the market. Volunteers from the Friends of the Hingham Farmers Market administer the SNAP program at the administration booth located at the market’s entrance.

Hingham Institution for Savings, the HFM’s primary corporate sponsor for many years, has once again provided a grant to underwrite some of the HFM’s operational costs. We are grateful for the strong support of two of Hingham’s most recognizable businesses.

For the most up-to-date news about the market, visit the HFM’s Facebook and Instagram pages, or sign up for “HFMarket Matters,” the weekly newsletter published each Thursday during the market season. Signup may be done at either the website or on the Facebook page. 1. Hi,
I am trying to find the dates and location of the farmers market in Hingham. I’d heard it’s on Saturdays, then every other Sat. and there are no details to be found.
Please advise as if there’s one tomorrow I’d like to go and shop.
    Thanks
    J
