Since 2019, the Hingham Anchor has been Hingham’s hyperlocal news source —documenting our daily history, celebrating our people, and keeping our community connected. Across the country, local journalism is disappearing; one-third of U.S. newspapers will be gone by 2024. We’re fortunate that The Anchor has grown into a 24/7 digital news source, but sustaining it takes community support.

When local news thrives, residents are more engaged, more likely to attend events, shop local, vote, and volunteer. When it disappears, communities lose connection and civic participation suffers.
