South Shore Bank is announcing the retirement of John Mannion, Commercial Relationship Manager, after 21 years of dedicated service to the Bank.
Jim Dunphy, CEO of South Shore Bank, praised John’s dedication. “I’ve seen John build strong relationships in Hingham and beyond, work hard to help local businesses obtain PPP loans during the pandemic, and show a longstanding commitment to our clients and community. I’m pleased we’ll stay connected as he joins the South Shore Y, an organization I know well from chairing their Board.”
“My first job was managing the YMCA in Lynn, so coming back to the Y part-time after retiring feels like a full-circle moment. I’ve always desired to return to the non-profit sector. South Shore Bank’s dedication to the community drew me to work there 21 years ago, and this focus will continue to guide me as I start this new chapter.”
John added, “As I approach retirement, I am thankful for the relationships I’ve built with our staff, clients, and the community. Whether you’re a long-time team member or a new hire, this is a wonderful place, and now I’m eager to become a South Shore Bank client.”
On Tuesday, September 24, colleagues, family, clients, and community members came together at the Bank’s Hingham location on South Street to offer John their well-wishes and express gratitude for his commitment.
Congratulations, John, on your retirement from South Shore Bank. Enjoy your new endeavors at the South Shore Y.
